How the Hidden Drop score works

  • Class relief — up to 30 pts: today's published class easier than its recent stored runs. Where no class number is published (Irish racing), class relief is unavailable rather than guessed from prize money — prize money counts once only, under prize-money easing.
  • Distance suitability — up to 20 pts: awarded only on its own record at today's trip. A change of distance on its own earns nothing.
  • Going suitability — up to 20 pts: awarded only on its own record on today's ground. A change of ground on its own earns nothing.
  • Prize-money easing — up to 15 pts: cheaper race than it has been contesting.
  • Freshness — up to 10 pts: days since its last run.
  • Rating edge — up to 5 pts: official rating against the class par.

Flagged at 55+ raw points out of 100. Scores are never rescaled: data coverage (how much of the 100-point scheme could be assessed) is shown separately, and runners with less than 60 points of coverage or no comparable history are marked “Insufficient data”. Trainer intentions are never assumed.

Tracked performance

1 point level stakes on every selection. Non-runners and pending results are excluded from settled figures.
